Junior Designer
Bright Designlab is a high-end, women-led interior design studio based in Portland, Oregon, with projects across the U.S. and beyond. For over 16 years, we’ve been shaping soulful, modern, and unapologetically design-forward spaces that merge artistry with precision.
We’re looking for a Junior Designer who’s hungry to learn, creatively sharp, and ready to roll up their sleeves in the world of high-end residential design. This is a chance to work inside a boutique firm where concept and craft collide - and where no detail goes unnoticed.
What You’ll Do
Support senior designers and the design director in all phases of residential design projects
Develop design presentations, concept boards, and FF&E palettes
Create and refine floor plans, elevations, and millwork drawings (AutoCAD proficiency required)
Source furnishings, finishes, and materials; coordinate with vendors and showrooms
Liase orders through procurement and installation
Participate in site visits, installs, and project documentation
What We’re Looking For
3 years minimum of interior design experience (high-end residential a major plus)
Construction Drawing experience
Knowledge of FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment/accessories)
A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS, and SketchUp, with strong digital presentation skills
An impeccable eye for detail - you notice what others miss
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset - you take initiative, not just notes
Comfort working in a fast-paced boutique environment where priorities shift and creativity thrives
A passion for design that’s as much about process as product
Why Bright Designlab
