songbird neighborhood eatery
The clients came to us with a dream of opening a neighborhood café. Judy and Peter also own and operate Shift, a design/build company and wanted to build out their own space. They had acquired a cozy corner spot on Mt. Tabor and worked closely with us to achieve a warm, textured space with pops of vibrant color. We designed in a wall of slatted white oak for hidden acoustic dampening (shhh), and specified Edgeworth laminated-ply flooring from Oregon Lumber Company. The espresso/bar wall is painted in, of course, deep dark espresso, and Verner Panton bird-egg blue lighting punctuates the bar. Vermilion red was the color of choice for the songbird mascot, reiterated in industrial, powdercoated bar stools The Torii 'bird perch' chairs in white oak and espresso felt are from Bensen. All signage and branding by bright designlab as well, for the cohesive environment and experience we strive for in each of our designs.
The Scope: interior design, finishes and furniture selection, graphics, and branding.
