...a little reminiscing about Michael Jackson... but I digress... I was reminded of this oh so fabulous song while wanting to share this elegant (yet mod) black and white kitchen that we just completed over the summer. We love it when our clients want to push the boundaries a little and ask for us to 'go there' with them. In this kitchen we played with balance and contrast, and scale changes - like the 6" chunky white counter against the back wall balance with the warm walnut bar counter, both which wrap both horizonally and vertically from floor to ceiling - to create a unique kitchen personality while still meeting all the functional needs of our client, and also being true to the era of the architecture. The custom steel handrail powder-coated in chartreuse was definitely a highlight to collaborate on, tying the entry into the rest of the open living space.
